In light of the increase of crime & violence in our nations and world, it’s a question that you need to ask yourself. Do you only think the persons doing harm are those that use guns and knives?
Haven’t you harmed someone at some time in our life?
If you really stop for a moment and think it may have been less than a week ago or maybe even a day. Whether it was a response to someone’s action toward you or your initial doing it still counts as wrong toward your brother/sister.
But in every wrong you have done there is always hope. You can still improve your love & kindness toward your brother/sister. Of courrrrrrrrrrrrse it hurts when people wrong you. It’s a sign that you are still alive cause your feelings are working. Know that God always wants you to live in love.
Have you been experiencing that it is getting harder to be your brother’s keeper. Especially when you’re at the place when you need help yourself. You need someone to come to your rescue but everyone wants you to come to theirs. Let me suggest to you that it is the plan of the enemy to keep us from reaching out to one another.
4 Reasons To Be Your Brother’s Keeper
1.You please God - As God sees you reach out to your fellowman he is pleased to see you demonstrate the love that he has put in you. Most definitely God will not forget your labor of love. “… Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me” Matthew 25:40 (King James Version)
2. No man is an island - Others need help just like you need help. Everyone needs someone in life. Your make up will not allow you to function perfectly on your own. The faster you help others the faster God can help you. You never know when you are going to need help in life. Who you try to help now can reap great benefits in your future. “Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free” Ephesians 6:8 (King James Version).
3. You Cause Others To See The Light - When you show real love and help your brother, people will see something different in you than what’s taking place in the world. Light will begin to shine, as you can be identified as one of Christ’s. “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” John 13:35 (King James Version). People take note and remember something done more than something said. So if you want people to remember how much you care then do something they will remember.
4. You Influence Others To Do It - Many people are waiting on someone to take the initiative in doing what is right and needs to be done. Everyone sees problems but few are doing something to bring solutions. Even though many people see what needs to be done, they don’t have the courage it takes to step out and be the first or set the pace. Everyone wants to be a part of something great, but someone has to get it started right? Why not be that one to keep love flowing in your area and be your brother/sister keeper. You may not be able to help everybody but you can help somebody.
Take the time to do something for your fellowman and God will make the time to do something for you.
