Choices: 11 Tests To Help You Know If It Is Right Or Wrong

Have you ever struggled to make a conscious decision on what to do in a given situation? Many things in life is not as easy as choosing multiple choice of true or false.

Some things must be tested by other methods and from different approach. Thank God I came across something that can help both of us.

As I was looking over some material to prepare for a youth session the following information stood out to me. The good news is that you came to mind. Whether I know you personally or not you are still special to me because you took the time to read this.

I know you may be in a hurry so let me speed on with this. The following is an excerpt from “The Teenage Q & A Book” by Josh McDowell & Bill Jones. I see these as things even adults can put into practice. It sure will help us live better lives.

“When you wonder if something is right or wrong, ask these questions. They will help you make the right choice:

1. The Personal Test: Will doing it make me a better or worse Christian?

2. The Practical Test: Will doing it likely bring desirable or undesirable results?

3. The Social Test: Will doing it influence others to be better or worse Christians?

4. The Universal Test: Suppose everyone did it?

5. The Scriptural Test: Is it expressly forbidden in the Word of God?

6. The Stewardship Test: Will doing it involve a waste of God’s talents invested in me?

7. The Missionary Test: Will doing it likely help or hinder the progress of the kingdom of
God on earth?

8. The Character Test: Will doing it make me stronger or weaker morally?

9. The Publicity Test: Would I be willing for my friends to know about it?

10. The Common Test: Does it reflect good, everyday, common “horse” sense?

11. The Family Test: Will doing it bring credit or dishonor to my family? ”

That’s it for now. Be sure to familiarize yourself with these to get started on your way to better choices and a successful life.

Please let me know what you think about this.

Lord Jesus be merciful to me a sinner. I realize that I have sinned against you and come short of your glory. Issue # 27 - What’s your I ‘Q’ ?

Here’s a story I found very interesting with real life comparisons. Imagine this, a group of thieves broke into a jewelry store one night. What did they steal? Here’s the strange thing about this story, all they did was switched all the price tags.

The following day, no one could tell what was valuable and what was cheap. The expensive jewels had suddenly become cheap, and the costume jewelry, which had been virtually worthless before, was suddenly of great value. Customers who thought they were purchasing valuable gems were getting fakes. Those who couldn't afford the higher priced items were leaving the store with treasures.

Well today as our series From A - Z continues, I bring to the forefront the letter 'Q'.
It’s now time for 'quality'. Are you getting quality for your money?

Quality:
1. A distinctive element.
2. High style in quality, manner, or dress
3. Degree of excellence.
4. Exceptionally good of its kind.

"Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of intelligent effort"
John Ruskin

What if I asked you if everything in life has a value on it? O.K., what I really would like to know then is does each of these match up to it’s value?

You walk into the food store to pick up an item and you notice the price went up. But wait a minute that’s not the only surprise. Through close observation you notice that the size of it has been reduced.

Wow! First the price goes up and then a smaller product. Today so many claims are being made by people and companies about their products or service. Poor quality customer service, poor quality product , poor quality work, are often the areas you hear complaints about.

Whatever you purchase in life, I’m sure you want the best quality product. I rally don’t blame you, cause there is nothing wrong with getting your money’s worth. In these days and times more people want your money, but what are they offering you? This means you have to be more and more alert to scams and con artist.

Meanwhile, back to our opening story about the jewelry store thieves. I want you to know, in our world someone also came in and switched all the price tags. It isn’t easy telling what is of value and quality and what is not. The world puts a high price tag on popularity, prestige, beauty, fame, accumulation of material wealth and the power that goes with it.

In return, they also make it appear that things pertaining to God aren’t that important and therefore don’t see them as of great value. In the only "jewelry store" that matters: the kingdom of God, remember Jesus taught us that the real truth behind the accumulation of wealth is virtually worthless. "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:" Matthew 6:19(KJV). Well you know if Jesus gave you a warning he will also give you some words of advice .And what is that you ask? "But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:" Matthew 6:20 (KJV)

I pray as the people of America go to the polls that the candidate of their choice be a man of good quality.

"The quality of a leader is reflected in the standards they set for themselves".
Ray Kroc, Founder, McDonald’s
