Issue # 23- Have you tasted this 'M n M' ?

My how far have we come in this series From A-Z. Would you believe it? We are almost half way there. Thanks for sticking with me.

1:47

Suddenly you find yourself in trouble trying to find a way out. How in the world did this happen? Obviously you had no intention of being in such a place. Now what do you want to happen next?

Well if you are like me, I’m sure you want to be given another chance or be forgiven. You know the funny thing about it? You have been in this type of scenery a number of times. Let us stop and look quickly at this situation before the next one happens again, Oh I’m sure it will.

When you are going through this, there is a certain thing that is in great demand. The greater the trouble the more of this you desire to have. You find it in the letter 'M'. You probably received some of this in the last 24 hours, yes it is ‘mercy’. Mercy, mercy, mercy. Lord have mercy.

Mercy: Kind, forgiving, or compassionate treatment of or disposition toward others.
1.Compassionate treatment, especially of those under one's power; clemency.
2.A disposition to be kind and forgiving: a heart full of mercy.
3.Something for which to be thankful; a blessing: It was a mercy that no one was hurt.
4.Alleviation of distress; relief: Taking in the refugees was an act of mercy.

“Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy”
Matthew 5:7 (KJV)

Let’s look at a number of places mercy is requested:

- children from their parents
- student before teacher
- employee before employer
- in the hands of the law officers
- standing before a judge
- as a customer from salesperson
- man before God

I’m sure you’ve seen all sectors of life where this precious item has been requested. How many times has it been granted though? You know what happens? We love to receive it in abundance but scarcely do we give it. We do as though it is extinct or short on supplies when time to give it out. Have you ever caught yourself being merciless toward others?

Well I want to remind you that you have to also be willing to give it. Yes I know it is hard to overlook hurt and pain people inflict on you, or ill-treatment. Was there ever a time you inflicted someone and you deserved punishment? How did feel to walk away free? I now it tasted good to, much better than the plain M&M’s or the ones with peanuts.

The only way to be able to pass this on is when you reflect on the great and merciful Father. "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;" 2 Corinthians 1:3 (KJV).

When you think about all you’ve done against God laws and compared it to the punishment you should have received, you should be able to testify that the Lord is merciful. "21This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. 22It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness". Lamentations 3:21-23 (KJV)

There is no measuring table that can measure the mercies of God. Adding to that there is enough to go around. "The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works". Psalm 145:9 (KJV).

Just one last thing before I go. I really must make sure that you know where to find this when you need it. "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need". Hebrews 4:16 (KJV). Always remember the throne room is there for you.

Issue # 22 - Are You Going To Leave Any ‘L’ ?

Do you remember the person or persons that made an impact on your life? What did they do to influence you? I don’t know how long you had to think back, but I hope you remembered someone.

The question that is really burning inside me is, how do you want to be remembered? What trademark, tradition, character, accomplishment do you plan to leave behind? There has to be something that people will attach your name to when certain subject matters arise. You have to leave behind some footprints for others to follow.

If you purpose in your heart to walk in your true identity you will create a path that many will want to follow. Without further delay let me hurry on to our subject matter and focus word. Today I am shining the light on the word 'legacy'. Since you would not be here forever, I suggest you one behind.

Legacy:
1. Tradition, inheritance, heritage
2. Something immaterial, as a style or philosophy, that is passed from one generation to
another.
3. Money or property bequeathed to another by will.

"No legacy is so rich as honesty"
William Shakespeare

As you are reading this, the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, officially known as the Games of the XXIX Olympiad is now going on. I was watching the news one morning last week and they were doing a story the same day the opening ceremony was held. This story was focusing on the 1960 Olympics. Attention was put on a few athletes but one really stood out. His name was Cassius Clay from Louisville, Kentucky. At that time many people had no idea who he was or about to become.

He made his mark there and stated that one day he will become champion of the world. And that he did. Today he is better known as Muhammad Ali. The man behind "Float like a butterfly sting like a bee" and "I am the greatest".

According to Wikipedia encyclopedia, Muhammad Ali defeated almost every top heavyweight in his era, which has been called the golden age of heavyweight boxing. Ali was named "Fighter of the Year" by Ring Magazine more times than any other fighter, and was involved in more Ring Magazine "Fight of the Year" bouts than any other fighter. He is an inductee into the International Boxing Hall of Fame and holds wins over seven other Hall of Fame inductees.

He is also one of only three boxers to be named "Sportsman of the Year" by Sports Illustrated. He is regarded as one of the best pound for pound boxers in history.

He was a masterful self-promoter, and his psychological tactics before, during, and after fights became legendary. It was his athleticism and boxing skill, however, that enabled him to scale the heights and sustain his position for so many years. In 1978, three years before Ali's permanent retirement, the Board of Aldermen in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky voted 6–5 to rename Walnut Street to Muhammad Ali Boulevard.

Bear in mind you may not rise to this status in life and become as popular around the world but you are still as important to mankind. Are you still with me, champion? Good.

Can’t you hear the music playing in the background as you walk through Life’s Hall of Fame? Picture this report:

O.K. wake up, Looks good right? But you haven’t arrived yet. I just wanted you to show you what it would look like when God shows you your legacy report card. Imagine living a life to be remembered for decades. When you live a satisfied life then you can say like Paul "7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing". II Timothy 4:7,8 (KJV)

Are you living like how you want to be remembered? O.K now go ahead and get working on it.

Issue # 21 - Special ‘K’

Do you know that everyone of us are in search of an answer to something? Sometimes its personal, family, work related, national or worldwide etc. Many times you are looking for more than one at a time. Many of us spend countless hours, days, years trying to get the solution to whatever we are dealing with.

It may be something like how to get more income with little investment. Maybe your trying to get more people to understand you. What about something very important in this hour like how to recession proof your life.

The answer to reduce crime, make communities safer. Living healthier. Finding ways to enhance our relationships, raising children better. Find better ways to store data using less space and material. Innovative ways to communicate globally. Build homes at a lower cost.

Companies are aiming more to produce more in an efficient manner - all while aiming to keep quality at its best. But the question is HOW?

This question is going through your mind and the mind of many around the world. You know what that means? We are looking for the keys to unlock these doors. You must realize that there is always a door that stands between you and the solution, but we need the 'key' to open the lock.

Key:
- answer, solution, essential, important
- device used to open a lock
- a means or method of entering into or achieving something desirable

"Curiosity is the key to creativity"
Akio Morita

If these things were so easy you would have many more persons with keys to make your life better. That’s why you should appreciate the great key holders in your life and society. These are the people who make advancing in life enjoyable. Mind you, they may have sacrificed, struggled and even been criticized for trying. But because they decided to hang in there you have it better.

Let’s give it up for Alexander Graham Bell, what would life be like without the telephone? How would you be communicating now? And how long would it take?
Now, let’s thank God for the key that was given to Thomas Edison what would you be doing after the sun goes down and the darkness sets in? I’m sure you appreciate the night light. Think about all the things you accomplished in the past because you were able to turn on a light switch.
Dr. John W Mauchly and j. Presper Ekert Jr. created the first electronic computer in the world. Look how far this instrument has brought us. How many things can be done, experienced and accomplished at the click of a mouse. From business transactions, to booking flights, shopping, chatting online, and making money. You are reading this in this format because someone took the time to search for the key to open this door.
Creator of the camera Johann Schulze in 1727 just so you can have those Kodak moments.

People have goals, challenges, issues and various problems. So they need solutions. The key thing is what do people need? What do they wish for? For people like you who want to help, your challenge is finding the keys that’s right for the people you come in contact with. Do you know that it is only a secret code that has to be revealed and the answer will be known?

"Smile, it is the key that fits the lock of everybody’s heart."
Anthony J. D'Angelo, The College Blue Book

There is a Locksmith that has designed a Key for everything. He has stamped this particular key with the message Do Not Duplicate. You need special permission to override this command. This special key is designed to open the locks of all of our hearts. He is the master key holder. "I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death." Revelation 1:18 (KJV)

If the master key opens the set of several locks, then why aren’t more of us depending on the Master to open our lock? Let Jesus open that lock for you.
